XID recently exhibited at Biometrics 2004 in London, at SMAU in Milan and at Sharp Electronics booth at Cartes 2004 in Paris.

At Biometrics 2004, former CEO, Dr. Mariani presented a case study entitled "A major blue-collar worker facial recognition deployment" that outlined a system in operation in Singapore.

Shortly after speaking at Biometrics 2004, XID's former CTO Dr.Mariani was interviewed by Tracey Logan of BBC World Service.

XID exhibited for three days at Global Entrepolis 2004 in Singapore.

XID's core predictive face synthesis technology was on display and the new tag system under trial at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) generated much attention. The trial is supported by The Enterprise Challenge (TEC), an initiative from the Prime Minister's Office of Singapore and aims to automate registration and shorten waiting time for SNEC's patients.

The World Technology Network announced that Dr Roberto Mariani, former CTO of XID Technologies Pte Ltd, has been selected as a nominee for the IT Software category of this year's World Technology Awards.

The awards are being held in association with Nasdaq, Microsoft, TIME magazine, Science magazine and CNN and the winner will be announced at the World Technology Awards gala in San Francisco on October 8th 2004.

This week’s edition of Computerworld ran an article called “Capturing Face Values” that featured XID’s Immigrant Workers Dormitory system.

CNBC India featured XID’s system deployment at an Immigrant Workers Dormitory in Singapore. Additionally, XID’s former CEO V.Sridhar and Director Myles Kendrick, were both featured during interviews at XID’s headquarters in Singapore.

XID complete the installation of what they believe to be the worlds largest, fully commercial deployment of face recognition technology. The system operates outdoors, day and night, rain or shine and controls access for 5,500 workers.

The workers do not speak a common language and are usually very tired, impatient and dirty as they return from work to enter the dormitory. Each worker enters/exits the dormitory 3 to 4 times each day meaning that the system is controlling around 20,000 entries per day.

Since deployment, the number of resident workers has grown to 6,000. The management of the dormitory recently bought an upgrade from XID, in order to accommodate the additional workers.
